Interesting to see that that ballboy seems to have (allegedly) held on to the ball rather than attempting to throw it to the away player waiting to take a corner!!
Wasn't pushed off his feet, little risk of injury compared to our incident.
Pretty unseemly anyway, surely the player just has to indicate to the ref that the ball is out of play and play being delayed? Just add some time on ref, no need for anyone to assault anyone!! :facepalm:

Violent conduct against anyone is a red card offence. Imagine a spectator runs onto the pitch stopping the game. A player decides to rugby tackle him to restrain him so stewards can now remove him. Interestingly again, the correct action for the referee to take is to red card the player. It sounds bizarre but that's the rule and it has been carried out.

That happened in a non league game last year or year or year before, player got a red card.
