Me too.

My memory says no action was taken by the ref other than lecturing both players. Is that right?

yes that is correct cheshire.it was a match against crewe and we were 2-0 down at half time with a gale force wind in our faces.fred and bicks had a "handbags" fist shaking about the delivery of a crap free kick (things just don't change do they?),and the crowd and ref were just astonished and he did indeed just lecture them.i remember bicks scored the equaliser with the same hurricane at our back.how we have "suffered" down the years"

I was there too, stood just along from Umbrella Vi on the old Popular side terrace. My memory is of it taking place more or less in line with me about 30 yards from the Barn Park goal as the players ran back towards the half way line.
