Oh definitely, 2 disallowed goals which were certainly goals

Felt a bit sorry for Chelsea for once.

Mind you trouble is players dive so much its hardly a surprise one official was going to get it wrong..

What the linesman's view blocked for the winner I wonder?

Very good game though and the Liverpool/Everton sounded good.

I didn't, they've had every decision going against Man Utd for seasons now. I don't know if his view was blocked but all it happened very quickly, it wasfairly marginal and the lino didn't have the advantage of slow motion replays

The thing is how many replays did it take to notice a fractional and faint touch on Torres, the Ref doesnt get that advantage.

Exactly. Ref was right i thought. Ramires was lucky to stay on the pitch.

Oh yeah agree about that! I think what angered the liverpool/ Chelsea fans the most were the disallowed goals for offside/ non-offside goals!

Great last few posts and good to see some common sense.
I think we can all agree that Chelsea deservedly went down to 10 men. So Clattenburg got that Ivanovic decision spot on.
So when Di Matteo talks about the referee getting the big decisions wrong and decisions going totally against Chelsea the ref in fact got one wrong and that's only because we can view it several times on TV. Torres was possibly harshly sent off, but again we've got a player who is quite prone to diving, so within seconds the refs got to make a key decision (in fact looking at it quite a few times Torres has a bad touch of the ball and knows that Ferdinand will easily get to it and you could argue he has then manipulated the situation.) In fact to prove how bias kicks in Di Matteo said after the match "Fernando put the ball between Evans’ legs and was through and was kicked on his shin and he went down" - He was through? Erm I know Ferdinand's not quick anymore but he would have easily got there before Torres.
I suppose the easy thing would be to not book divers but then you can't win because Moyes and many other managers (Pulis) want to stamp out these guys. Right, so what does Clattenburg do? He can't please anyone. In fact if we sit 20 managers/players/pundits down all of them won't agree on the 3/4 key decisions, so therefore when a ref is sometimes absolutely vilified it doesn't make sense.
The final decision of course was down to the linesman, but we're talking literally centremetres and there were 3 chelsea defenders who should have dealt with it regardless of the 2 man advantage - the fact is while Clattenburg didn't have the best of games he made 1 (arguably) poor decision, not 3 or 4, but of course Di Matteo and co have to deflect the criticism of the team's failure to defend, and stay disciplined and make it all about the referee. Utter nonsense.

Of course since then the referee has been reported. It will be interesting to hear what exactly went on.
Also the fact that objects were thrown onto the pitch when Hernandez scored and a steward was injured (this could be unrelated) lets sweep that (and the objects eh) under the carpet...

I can't help smiling tonight and if I saw Mark Clattenberg I'd buy him a pint.

I'm so sick of moaning managers. Referees are NOT superhuman, they make mistakes, and if players didn't dive as much they wouldn't have to make these decisions.

:iagree:

So when Di Matteo talks about the referee etc - Di Matteo is totally wrong
Torres was possibly harshly sent off, - 'harshly' just !!!! BUT as you say - divers are risking a card and I agree that he prob saw Ferdinand and went down. (should I rephrase that ????)
Ramires should have gone for that ABH but I thought Cleverly was very sporting about it and Ramires should thank Torres really - if Torres hadn't gone then Ramires probably would have.
Man Utd winner - I didn't spot it with an aerial view on my TV so the Lino has minimal chance !!! Shocking defending !!

As for L'Pool - Stirling must buy a brain cell and stop running like a girl (Bolasie??) Stirling should have gone but the ref was very good with a firm lecture to Stirling with Gerrard stood there as Captain. (bit like rugby )
Saurez continues to be a complete winker with his dive towards Moyes. He really is a to$$er
I'm not really a Prem fan but the games were a good advert for the Prem.

Yes I agree with you there...its very easy for all these managers and pundits to give their view after having a chance to to see replays.

I remember last week Alan Shearer saying having seen the incident of when the Everton's player was sent off "you can clear see the QPR player trips himself up"..

Having said "in real play it looked like a 2nd yellow/foul"!
