He had agreed to sign for us in 2010/11 if we managed to stay up. We went down and he went off to Swansea.

Would like to see him here for sure, fantastic player.

Might be getting your seasons mixed up, he signed for Swansea in january 2011 but Swansea sent him back on loan to the greeks for the remainder of the season.

BUT he left Swansea for Brighton before playing a game for them so perhaps he would have got to us as opposed to them if we were in League One maybe.

I can confirm he was going to sign for us if we stayed up - probably the only thing I've ever "known" on here. I explained myself at the time and don't fancy it again :thumbup:

I think we've got mixed up on the wording here.

When you said he agreed to sign for us in 2010/11, I read it as he (agreed to sign for us in 2010/11) as opposed to he agreed to sign for us (in 2010/11) if that makes sense.

Needless to say I'm on your level now, and now you say it I recall hearing a similar rumour at the time. Shame.

Yes sorry. If we had stayed up in the CCC in 09/10 then he would have signed pre season of 10/11.
