Pretty sure both Nathan Dyer and BWP had criminal records before clubs happily signed them up.

They not only had their own baggage but other people's too.

So people who are arrested are guilty by association are they? Plenty of people are arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and this guy was completely innocent - hence being released without charge
Absolutely. You can't just go wading in with accusations because he was once arrested.

Have I ever been arrested? Yes, at the World Cup France '98.
Have I got a police record? No, because I got released after 3 hours when they realised i'd done f**k all. (must be me face)

Although one might say that as you were in an area where trouble had occurred/might have occurred, you were more likely to be in with a chance of getting arrested.

We couldn't go anywhere else though PP. If you tried to leave the area you were met by a line of police. I see what you're saying though, loads of England fans acting stupid, loads more doing nothing. But we were all tarred with the same brush.

I was once arrested and released without charge, a genuine case of mistaken identity and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was released without charge in less than 45 minutes, I didn't even see the Police Station. Had I been a celeb or sports star, i wonder how that would have been reported. I suspect I'd have been guilty by association because I was drunk in St Blazey late at night.

I would have thought that if you were in St Blazey, getting drunk would be essential not criminal

Blimey, I thought there weren't any pubs left open in St Blazey any more.

Yes, but Ed B did not disclose how long ago it was when he found himself 'tired and slurred of speech' in St Blazey. I just hope it did not get much for him listening to Freddie Zapp [?] in the Rainbow Rooms!

Mid Nineties. I'd been drinking in the now closed Cornish Arms, on Par Green. On the corner between the Par Inn and The Welcome Home Inn, where I'd also been that evening. I'd stumbled across an under cover sting on a Cat Burglar on Old Roselyon Road. I think that's enough information on the public internet about me and my victim of circumstances.

Shame about all the pubs closing, since then; Cornish Arms, Par; Cornish Arms St Blazey; Biscovey Social have closed to my knowledge. I don't know about the Railway or Heavy Transport clubs, though I did wind up in the Packhorse a couple of years ago. Still rough as, certainly a good old fashioned working class spit and sawdust boozer. I pity any emmets chancing their arm that they've found a quaint little pub off the beaten track after a delightful day at the Eden Project.
