Looks like you were given a reason. Posting a link to a website which contains libellous content.

"Vic", what Mark means is that there's a guy on your website who admitted in a post on your website that he was banned from Home Park for 3 years for racially abusing an Argyle player, with evidence coming from several police officers.
It's there in his own words dated 12 December 2011.

Thankfully, this person isn't on Pasoti.

Who's that? Rather than just make some statement, name a name. There's probably people on pasoti who are racists. There were probably people in the queue at Tesco today when I was buying my lunch who are racist. It's a bit low to state something like that Mark and then just not expand on something. I post there - am I a 'known' racist? Are most of the people there 'known racists' or is it just two people? You've used the plural 'rascists' so you are referring to more than one person.

I've read ATD and posted on there for a while and I've yet to come across a single post that I'd deem as 'racist'.

It's a nasty allegation to make.



So who is it? Link? Username? And Mark said 'racists' - either it's a slip of the keyboard or he means more than one person. It's not Vic's website either is it. It's a forum on the internet just like pasoti - nobody really owns it as it exists due to its members - it's a collective. That's what the spirit of the internet is. To label a website as racist by inference is pretty dubious. Is Facebook racist? There's probably a few racist people on there.

And another thing:



Something is only libellous if it's been deemed that by a court of law. A written statement would have to go to court and be found libellous by that court for it to be labelled 'libellous'. It's a bit like stating anyone who owns a car and also drinks is a 'drink driver'. Mods on here aren't judges so they can't actually state anything is libellous unless it has been found to be so by a court of law.

I'm getting confused here. Is a link to ATD banned on Pasoti because the site has been convicted of libel?

I think my grammar in that post is spot on. The use of the s does not imply plural members. As Postey points out - the man admitted himself on that forum! Postey's given you the date - won't take long to find it. There aren't that many posts per day on that site to sift through!

Instead of having a dig at ATD - send me the link by PM Mark. I'll admit 110% to use a football cliché that the site in question does harbour people and views and opinions that are pretty close to the knuckle and there's an anti-pasoti bias towards many threads and posts. You could take the moral high ground and not even comment on the site - that's what I'd do and I'm quite good at annoying people when I want to.

I have no real allegiance to either site - ATD is a bit more fun and a bit more radical and pasoti tends to be better for information sharing and news.

Inferring that a site condones and harbours racists though is a little low - like I've said, I've not seen anything on there that would be deemed racist. Knowing the mods over there, they wouldn't tolerate it and, although there's much less moderation on that site than others I frequent, that kind of post would be dealt with and the member would be banned/warned. If it wasn't like that, I certainly wouldn't post there.

In answer to the OP - neither are better, they're just different strokes for different folks.

I suggest you ask the question on that site. The individual has no right of reply on this site (nor will they have) so I won't name them. The post is there. It won't take long to look.

Dictionary definition for libel - any defamatory or unflattering representation or statement.

Vic posted that we remove links for no reason. The reason was plainly stated in the example given, whether Vic agrees that the reason is valid is another matter. The reason we don't allow links to the other site is because people openly post lies about pasoti and it's members.

That might be the dictionary definition but libel is a crime in this country and you need a criminal definition in this instance. If a statement hasn't resulted in a conviction via a court, it is just a statement.

I didn't ask you to name and shame on here, I asked you to PM me a link or provide me with a username (a link would be better though). It's not actually that easy to find something by just a date on a forum.

That took a long time but I've actually found the post. It's not actually quite as cut and dry as PL2 makes out. It's written by 'guest' too and that means that the account is no longer active.
