Ouch...bit of a hammering for our lads.

We were too complacent after day one or the South Africans just too good?

They have won 3 of their 10 tests as number 1. Pathetic.

R-Bop still flatters to deceive at Test level doesn't he?

I still think we're good enough to win one of the next two Tests, but we'll need the quicks to rediscover their form urgently. A South Africa Test series is not a good time for all of our bowlers to go off the boil.

Tricky to know how to freshen up the side.

Both batting and bowling departments could do with a shot in the arm.

I think Finn should come in - but for who?

We are definitely capable of winning the series, the quality is there, we just need to learn from this drubbing and move on to the next test.
Our team clearly just had one of those off days.

Make that four off days!!

I think we've finally been found out against the best Test side in the world. Man for man they have the better team.

I'd be surprised if we manage to win a Test against the Saffers.

Agree - Finn for Bresnan.

Finn for Bresnan is a good shout. Bresnan has now lost the accolade of neve losing a test match - wasnt that the sole purpose of his inclusion?!

Therefore get the Finn in, bit of pace and bounce.

Bopara out as well for me, but im not sure who to bring in. He says himself that he is a confidence player, i cant see this being sky high after the first test.

If you're going to leave Bopara out you'd have to bring Bairstow in surely. I think they'll stick with Bopara at least until the end of this series though.

Poor old England.

None of us are paying the usual amount of attention, distracted as we are by the school fete down in East London.

No Swann, Finn picked instead. I'm fine with half of that sentence.

Never seen a wicket denied because the bowler has nudged the non-striker's wicket off at the end of his delivery stride. Bit controversial, but why does Finn's run-up get so close anyway? Foolish.

SA look like they'll set us a decent target. Headingley is a results pitch.

Tough day ahead.

Pietersen was on fire! He made their bowlers look like a village team!
